As a Social Worker in our dynamic Older People's Mental Health Service, you’ll be a valued member of a supportive multidisciplinary team that truly recognises and appreciates the unique strengths social work brings to community mental health care.
About the role:
This role offers flexible hours between 7:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, supporting a healthy work-life balance. You’ll be actively involved in home visits, community-based assessments, and collaborative team meetings alongside nursing staff and allied health professionals, making a real difference in the lives of older people in our community.
You'll be supported from day one with a thorough onboarding and orientation program, including dedicated clinical supervision and tailored education in older people's mental health. If you're looking to deepen your expertise, we strongly support further education and professional development in this rewarding and specialised field.
About you:
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Social Worker who brings a strong foundation in contemporary mental health practice with older adults. You’ll need excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to connect meaningfully with people aged 65 and over. Confidence in independent decision-making, ethical practice, and managing complex situations is essential, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
You’ll also have experience leading team initiatives, providing supervision to students or junior staff, and applying psychosocial assessments and evidence-based frameworks in your practice. A strong understanding of trauma-informed care, and the ability to build supportive, professional relationships with consumers, carers, and service partners, will be key to your success in this role.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Social Work or equivalent with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
