About the role

This newly established, district-wide role will work across Pharmacy, ICT and Clinical Governance to support key digital and medication safety initiatives. Initially, you’ll lead small projects in preparation for the Single Digital Patient Record rollout, including governance and implementation of smart infusion devices and a district-wide smart pump library.

Working with Biomedical Technology team, comprised of nursing, allied health and medical staff, you’ll help deliver smart infusion devices across Hunter New England LHD. While strategic priorities are set by the organisation, you’ll have flexibility to define and achieve your own KPIs.

You’ll report to the Medication Safety and Quality Manager and receive strong onboarding and ongoing support from a collaborative pharmacy network, including access to the Senior Pharmacist – Education and Training. The role is initially based in Newcastle with flexible work arrangements available over time, depending on service needs.

Where you’ll be working

District Pharmacy Services is a small, friendly team based at The Lodge on the John Hunter Hospital campus. The team leads medication safety, quality use of medicines and pharmacy education across the district. Flexible working hours and transport options, including a free shuttle bus, help support work–life balance.
