What you'll be doing
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the unaccredited trainee's skills, knowledge and experience. They will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding a patient's care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.
- Two years post graduate medical experience at commencement of post with recent demonstrated surgical experience (minimum of three surgical terms, preferably one in either ENT or Urology).
- Preferable completion of Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses prior to commencement of post.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise.
- Demonstrated effective teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary clinical care team.
- Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education and teaching undergraduate and post-graduates.
- Demonstrated interest in either ENT or Urology subspecialty training.
