Where you will be working:
Kurri Kurri Hospital is located in the township of Kurri Kurri, around 30 minutes from Newcastle and 20 minutes from Maitland. Our hospital has all the charm of a rural facility whilst also providing contemporary nursing practice opportunities for our nursing teams. This position is located within our perioperative services at Kurri Kurri Hospital and will provide nursing care to our consumers.
Our department is provides clinical services to patients requiring ENT, General Surgery and Ophthalmology procedures. Our team is particularly specialised in ophthalmology cases and we are fortunate to work with an extremely senior nursing workforce and highly regarded Surgeons.
About the role:
The beauty of working at Kurri is that your days are often well planned out with a clear idea of the expected outcomes and output of clinical care. This allows staff to feel stable and supported in their everyday duties. We operate Monday – Friday, morning and afternoon shifts only. There is no after hours call backs and no requirement for working nights or weekends – this is perfect for the candidate who perhaps has kids or is looking for a better work-life balance.
Each day you will be assigned your role, we will provide a clear theatre list so you will know in advance what type of procedures will be occurring on each day.
Our team is quite stable and senior in their nursing experience we offer a great deal of on the job training, advice and guidance. We however do acknowledge that everyone has different learning styles and we are really trying to unpack different methodologies for orientation and training to cater for everyone. About You:
You have a passion for perioperative care and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient outcomes. Our nursing team is made up of professionals from diverse clinical backgrounds, including anaesthetics, recovery, scout, and scrub specialities.
For this recruitment round, we are particularly seeking experienced scrub nurses to join our team. However, if you have limited scrub experience but are motivated to learn and grow, we still strongly encourage you to apply. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment and will work alongside you to build your capability and confidence in the scrub role.

- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
