Where You’ll Be Working

Join the dedicated team at the Oncology Treatment Centre (OTC) within Maitland Hospital, where compassionate cancer care, skilled practice and exceptional teamwork define our approach. This specialised unit delivers high‑quality chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy and supportive treatments to patients across the region in a warm, calm and patient‑centred environment. You’ll be part of a close, cohesive nursing team known for its supportive culture, open communication and genuine care - where staff have each other’s backs and every team member feels valued, respected and never alone.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse - Oncology, you’ll provide expert, hands‑on care to cancer patients throughout their treatment journey. Working collaboratively with oncologists, pharmacists, Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs) and allied health colleagues, you’ll safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and infusions, monitor patients for side effects and responses, and deliver education and emotional support to patients and families. Your days will blend technical precision with compassionate connection, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy and person‑centred care in a dynamic, rewarding environment.

About You

You’re a compassionate Registered Nurse with demonstrated oncology experience and a steady hand for complex treatments. You bring sharp clinical judgement, meticulous attention to detail and a natural ability to connect with patients and families during challenging times. You thrive in a supportive team where collaboration and mutual respect drive the best outcomes.

You bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Demonstrated competency and experience in chemotherapy administration (SACT or equivalent)
  • Competency in central venous access device management (PICC, CVAD, IVC access)
  • Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail and patient‑focused approach
  • Ability to work cohesively within a supportive multidisciplinary team
  • Experience managing oncological emergencies and understanding of cancer treatment pathways/symptom management is desirable

You’ll be welcomed with a structured orientation plan, supernumerary shifts and bedside teaching.
