Where You’ll Be Working
Join a small, supportive team of Registered Nurses based at Belmont Hospital. You’ll support patients travelling to and from external appointments and investigations, ensuring they receive safe, person‑centred care throughout their journey.
You’ll work closely with the broader hospital team and transport services, representing Belmont Hospital in other facilities and settings while maintaining the same standard of care patients receive on the ward.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse - Escort, you will provide compassionate, patient‑centred care while accompanying patients to off‑site appointments, procedures and investigations. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Nursing, you will ensure patients are safe, informed and supported before, during and after their transfer.
In this role, you will:
✨Monitor patients during transport and at external facilities, responding promptly to any changes in condition
✨Communicate clearly with patients, families, and external clinical teams to support continuity of care
✨Advocate for patients, ensuring their needs, preferences and safety remain central to all decisions
✨Support documentation and handover processes so that care plans and outcomes are clearly communicated
✨Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, timely transfers and discharges
You won’t be alone in this role! From day one you will receive a structured orientation and education program to familiarise you with escort processes, documentation, equipment and safety procedures.
About You
You are a flexible and reliable Registered Nurse who enjoys working autonomously while staying connected to a supportive team. You are calm, organised and confident in managing changing situations, including during patient transport and in unfamiliar environments.
