HNEkidsRehab invites applications from suitably qualified Paediatric Medical Officer to support the clinical management and treatment of patients of HNEkidsRehab within The Children’s Healthcare Network, Northern, and to support and promote seamless continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

Ideal applicants will:

·         Be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia

·         Have appropriate experience in the field of paediatric rehabilitation including the rehabilitation care and management of children and young people living with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and disease, cerebral palsy and movement disorders and other diagnostic groups requiring rehabilitative care.

·         Provide high quality, evidence based, patient focused paediatric rehabilitation services to admitted patients and non-admitted clients of HNEkidsRehab including their families and carers.

·         Have experience working within a multi-disciplinary team

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team including leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  5. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education with evidence of desire to pursue specialist status in rehabilitation medicine.
