Physiotherapist - Emergency Department
Deliver expert care in a fast-paced ED, collaborating with a dynamic team to provide timely, effective intervention
Remuneration: $61.36 - $62.84 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging
Hours Per Week: 16 (Week 1: Saturday and Sunday. Week 2: Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

About the role:
Your role will also involve:
- Ensuring timely and effective physiotherapy interventions
- Collaborating with nurse practitioners, nursing staff, allied health assistants, and medical staff at varying levels
- Representing Allied Health in ED team meetings, contributing valuable insights
- Providing occasional support to wards or outpatient services, if needed
Where you’ll be working:
Maitland Hospital is a modern healthcare facility providing a wide range of medical services to the Hunter Valley region. The new Maitland Hospital, which opened in 2022, features state-of-the-art equipment, expanded emergency and maternity services, and improved inpatient care.
As part of the larger physiotherapy team, you'll work alongside ICU Level 4 physiotherapists, senior ward staff, and early-career physiotherapists (1st & 2nd years).
- Strong clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- The ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with senior physiotherapy leadership (Level 6)
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, particularly in the ED setting
- Confidence in discussing emerging issues with ED leadership teams
- Engagement in physiotherapy networks for ED within Hunter New England
Level 3 candidates may be considered if they are developing towards a level 4.
Requirements:
- Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
Additional Information:
- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
