About The Role:


Join John Hunter Hospital, a major tertiary referral hospital in NSW, and play a vital role in supporting the Operating Theatre Team. We are seeking a proactive and reliable Operating Theatre Support Officer to provide non-clinical, ancillary support to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of patient care.

You’ll become an essential part of our surgical services, helping maintain a clean, organised and well-functioning theatre environment — and you'll be trained and supported every step of the way.

  • Liaising with clinical staff to confirm and assemble equipment as per the theatre list

  • Performing equipment checks to ensure functionality, cleanliness, and completeness

  • Reporting faulty equipment for maintenance

  • Restocking and maintaining theatre supplies in consultation with staff

  • Assisting with theatre turnover, including cleaning, waste disposal, and linen removal between procedures

  • Supporting the broader theatre campus and general hospital services as directed
