About the Role
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal leader to take up the role of Network Manager, Aboriginal Health.
This is a key leadership position that will guide and strengthen the Aboriginal Health Clinical Network, ensuring Aboriginal voices, values, and cultural governance are embedded across our health services. The role works closely with Aboriginal clinicians, community representatives, and our partners in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to co-design care that is culturally safe, community-led, and grounded in connection to Country.
You’ll help drive implementation of the NSW Aboriginal Health Plan 2024–2034 and Closing the Gap reforms, ensuring these commitments translate into real outcomes and improved experiences for Aboriginal people across our District.

You’re confident building relationships with community, clinicians, and leadership teams and you know how to bring Aboriginal voices into the room where decisions are made. You have experience leading or supporting Aboriginal health programs or services and are ready to take the next step in your leadership journey.

This role offers the chance to lead with purpose, strengthen Aboriginal cultural governance across HNELHD, and ensure our services reflect the voices, priorities, and strengths of Aboriginal communities
Key Focus Areas
- Provide cultural and strategic leadership to the Aboriginal Health Clinical Network.
- Strengthen partnerships with ACCHOs, Elders, communities, and Aboriginal clinicians.
- Embed Aboriginal Cultural Governance in clinical and operational decision-making.
- Support co-design and evaluation of culturally responsive models of care.
- Represent HNELHD in statewide Aboriginal health networks and forums.
