About the role:
The Mental Health Medical Administration Team has an exciting opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented Medical Administration Officer to join our dynamic centralised team.
This role will see you provide quality, client-focused administrative support to ensure that medical workforce resources are utilised in an efficient and effective manner. You will be involved in the recruitment, rostering, and payroll administration of Medical Officers across Hunter New England Mental Health.
In this high-volume, fast-paced environment, you will need to be flexible, responsive, and skilled at prioritising competing demands to deliver timely and accurate outcomes. From preparing orientation packages and managing rosters, to assisting with recruitment requirements and resolving pay queries, your role is central to the smooth running of medical workforce operations.
Where you’ll be working:
You’ll be based at the Mater Mental Health Centre, Calvary Mater Campus, Waratah, as part of a collaborative, supportive administration team. The Mental Health Medical Administration Team manages the rostering and recruitment of Medical Officers across the district, providing a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic centralised service and build strong professional networks.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure environment.
- Client-focused, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with medical staff and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with strong accuracy in payroll, rostering, and documentation.
- Collaborative, thriving in a team environment and contributing to shared goals.
- Confident with computer systems and proficient in Microsoft Office; prior experience with StaffLink or similar HRIS is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in administration, preferably within a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality administrative support in a busy environment.
