The successful candidate will ensure the efficient delivery of the DAP+ Medibus, for program service delivery and planned activities for urban, rural and remote communities, hospital and general practices located within the Hunter New England geographical regions.  This unique opportunity to contribute to the program’s meaningful mission of improving community healthcare outcomes. Working within a supportive and dynamic environment, you’ll play a vital role in providing access to high-quality care for patients diagnosed with diabetes.  

This casual position will involve driving and managing vehicle operations of DAP+ Medibus to DAP+ planned activities, including: travelling and taking the DAP+ team to local townships and staying a week at a time or for the day.  Ensuring the DAP+ vehicle is safety and cleanliness is maintained, and made available when needed.  

The successful applicant will be supported by and will report directly to the program Implementation Manager.  Ongoing learning and training opportunities are provided, including access and learning modules offered within the HNE My Health Learning platform and HETI.

 

Essential Criteria:
The successful candidate must hold a light rigid drivers license and proven experience in driving a light or heavy weight vehicle with a stable work history.

The Diabetes Alliance Program Plus (DAP+) is a dedicated initiative aimed at enhancing health outcomes and patient care experiences for individuals with diabetes, all within the convenience of their general practice setting.  DAP+ provides a variety of flexible and innovative services, including in-person and virtual case conferencing, diabetes and endocrine advice line, education events and conferences, and mobile Medibus.
