About the Role

Moree District Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Breast Cancer Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. This position is ideally suited to a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC)

In this role, you will deliver advanced, patient-centred care and provide expert clinical consultancy across the breast cancer care continuum. You will play a key role in coordinating care, supporting patients and families, and promoting a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and recovery, in alignment with McGrath Foundation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical consultancy in breast cancer care within a multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinate care for patients diagnosed with breast cancer across all stages of treatment
  • Deliver evidence-based, patient-focused supportive care
  • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration to optimise patient outcomes
  • Apply advanced clinical knowledge within a hospital and broader district context
  • Act as a clinical leader, supporting excellence in patient care and service delivery


About You

You are a compassionate and skilled nurse with a strong background in oncology and a commitment to improving outcomes for people affected by breast cancer.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience in surgical or medical oncology
  • At least 3 years’ experience in breast or cancer care (or closely related field)
  • Postgraduate qualifications in breast care nursing or cancer nursing
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary breast cancer care practices and research
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver holistic, patient-centred care tailored to individual needs
