Where you'll be working:
You’ll join the District Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Team — a highly committed, compassionate and collaborative group dedicated to preventing violence, abuse and neglect and improving outcomes for victim-survivors. Based in Taree, this role offers the opportunity to work locally while contributing to meaningful system-wide change.

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a pilot model of care designed to strengthen the response to Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). Working in close partnership with the DFV Forensic Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will support victim-survivors across clinic settings, provide in-reach to acute services, and collaborate with local GPs, Aboriginal organisations and DFV services to deliver coordinated, trauma-informed care.

You will be supported every step of the way, with strong operational and clinical guidance from the DFV Projects Manager, local VAN leads and experienced clinicians. Support includes a comprehensive in-person orientation, regular team meetings, clinical supervision, and tailored education and professional development opportunities to help you grow in the role.

About you:
You are a skilled and confident Social Worker who is motivated by innovation and meaningful practice. You bring strong experience working with victim-survivors of DFV, along with the initiative and adaptability to help trial and refine a new model of care. You value reflective practice, collaboration and continuous improvement, and are committed to delivering safe, respectful and person-centred support.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be female - under Section 31 (2) (h) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
  • Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in social work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Three years' clinical experience and demonstrated experience of extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline as defined by the award definitions of a level 3 practitioner.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel.
