Where You’ll Be Working

The Stimulant Treatment Program (STP) is based at the James Fletcher Hospital site in Newcastle. This vibrant coastal city offers stunning beaches, a spectacular coastline, and access to Lake Macquarie - the largest saltwater lake in NSW. Our STP team is supportive, collaborative, and multidisciplinary, working together to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to our clients. You’ll be supported by your Line Manager, Allied Health Lead, and experienced team members, with a comprehensive orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities provided.

 

About the Role

As a Counsellor within the Stimulant Treatment Program, you will:

  • Conduct client assessments and develop, implement, and review appropriate care and management plans.

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure care decisions are evidence-based and client-centred.

  • Participate in team discussions to guide individual case decisions and treatment pathways.

  • Manage competing priorities and respond flexibly to the dynamic and evolving needs of clients.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional and ethical standards at all times.

  • An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
