Are you passionate about amplifying the voice of consumers in health research and building stronger partnerships between communities, healthcare services and universities?

We’re looking for a Consumer Engagement Officer to join our team and play a vital role in strengthening co-design and consumer involvement in research translation across our partnership.

In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will lead and support a range of initiatives to increase consumer involvement in health research across our partnership, including:

Providing strategic advice and information on policies, procedures, and other aspects of consumer involvement in health research, developing, delivering and evaluating training workshops for health professionals, researchers and consumers establishing, coordinating and supporting a Consumer Advisory Committee managing and expanding a register of consumers across the NSWRHP footprint and actively connecting consumers and research teams.supporting researchers to involve consumers and community groups in their health research.

Occasional overnight travel may be required.

NSW Regional Health Partners (NSWRHP) is a partnership of six organisations accredited by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) as a Research Translation Centre (Regional, Rural and Remote).

  • Charles Sturt University
  • University of New England

We are a small team working closely with our partners to support the translation of health and medical research into clinical practice – improving outcomes for patients and communities and enhancing the efficiency of health services.

About You
We’re looking for a collaborative and motivated individual with:

  • Previous experience working with consumers, ideally in a health or community services environment, and an understanding of the research ecosystem
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to influence, advocate, and foster partnerships across diverse groups
  • A genuine passion for meaningful consumer involvement in research to improve outcomes for communities
  • A go-getter attitude with a high level of initiative and problem solving skills

Additional Information:
An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies. 

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
