The Role

As an Assistant in Nursing at Walcha Multi-Purpose Service (MPS), you will play a vital role in providing individualised, excellent patient care within a health service environment to maximise health outcomes under the guidance and direction of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting patients with personal care, mobility, and communication needs to support them in daily activities and overall functioning. You will provide nursing care within your scope of practice, ensuring that all care is delivered within legal and ethical parameters, supported by local and state-wide policies and procedures.

Your role will also involve assisting nurses with routine technical support functions, such as setting up procedures and cleaning equipment, as well as maintaining accurate documentation in patient records to meet legislative requirements. Ensuring the continuity of safe patient and client care is paramount, alongside using materials and equipment appropriately to make the best use of finite resources.


Requirements

  • Certificate III Assistant in Nursing or currently enrolled in an undergraduate Registered Nursing degree (completion of first year and first semester or trimester of second year), or currently enrolled in a TAFE NSW Diplomas of Nursing (completion of identified foundational units in practice AND 120 hours of clinical placement).
