About The Role:

 

John Hunter Hospital

  • We are seeking motivated individuals to join our dynamic and supportive team in the Emergency Department (ED) at John Hunter Hospital. This vital frontline role provides efficient administrative support in a high-paced, ever-changing environment, where no two days are the same.
  • As an ED Administration Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare professionals—whether in person at reception or via the hospital switchboard. You will work closely with a skilled and friendly team of administrative, nursing, medical, and management staff to ensure the smooth operation of the department and delivery of high-quality care.
  • This role offers both permanent and temporary positions, with shifts available across a 7-day rotating roster between 6:00 am and 12:00 midnight, including weekends and public holidays.

 About You:

  • You will have great communication and computer skills with a genuine passion for working in a fast-paced frontline environment. Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to work harmoniously within the team is essential. 
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a “Can do” attitude
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficient in hospital information systems and switchboard operations
