About the role:
– JHH Outpatients Clinics
You will be part of the dynamic team supporting the large and fast-paced Outpatients service at John Hunter Hospital. This service provides critical administrative and clerical support to a wide range of outpatient specialties. Shifts may be scheduled anytime between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, requiring flexibility and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Arrival: Greet and process patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate check-in procedures.
- Appointment Booking: Schedule follow-up appointments in line with clinical instructions and availability.
- Clinic Preparation: Complete pre-clinic administrative tasks, such as managing patient files, updating records, and preparing documentation for clinicians.
- Multitasking: Work efficiently under pressure during busy clinic hours while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanour.
About You:
- A high level of reliability and professionalism
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency in computer systems and the ability to quickly learn and retain new information
- A professional and courteous telephone manner
- A solid background in customer service roles
- A flexible and adaptive approach to changing priorities and workflows
- The ability to establish and maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
