About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Administration Officer to join our front-of-house and Roma Ward team at Gloucester Health Service. In this important role, you’ll be the welcoming face of our hospital - providing a calm, professional, and compassionate presence to patients, families, and visitors, often during times of need.
As a key member of our team, you’ll deliver high-quality administrative support to both the ward and emergency department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and accurate medical record management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, takes pride in their organisational skills, and values contributing to quality patient care within a supportive rural health setting.
About Us:
Located on beautiful Biripi Country, Gloucester Health Service is part of the Rural and Regional Health Service within the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Our facilities include a 14-bed General Ward, a busy 3-bed Emergency Department, and an Operating Theatre offering General Surgery and Ophthalmology services supported by local and visiting medical professionals. A co-located Community Health Centre, providing a wide range of nursing and allied health services.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. As an Administration Officer, you will:
- Be the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors—both in person and over the phone.
- Manage general enquiries, direct calls and visitors, and provide information in a friendly and professional manner.
- Support clinical staff by ensuring the accurate creation, handling, and filing of medical records and patient documentation.
- Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks for the ward and Emergency Department.
- Maintain a calm and organised approach during busy or high-pressure situations.
