Wilson Memorial Hospital is located in the picturesque Upper Hunter town of Murrurundi, offering the perfect blend of professional challenge and country lifestyle.
Murrurundi Hospital provides 24-hour emergency care, inpatient services, palliative care, aged care, rehabilitation and outpatient services.
You’ll join a diverse and collaborative team of experienced EENs and RNs, supported by a visiting onsite CNE and NUM. Additional education and mentoring are available through district CNEs and HSM/NUMs, ensuring you are well supported in your professional growth.
About the Role
No two days are the same.
One moment you may be caring for a patient recovering from knee surgery; the next, facilitating a retrieval in the Emergency Department. Working across the acute ward and ED, you will care for a diverse patient mix including general medical, post-surgical and palliative patients.
This role will challenge and grow your clinical skills as you assess and manage emergency presentations, utilising strong critical thinking and clinical judgement.
Essential (or willingness to work towards):
- Triage
- IV cannulation
- Venepuncture
- BLS/ALS accreditation
You’ll receive comprehensive support including onsite orientation, access to visiting CNEs, district educators and paid education days across HNE LHD facilities.
Strong partnerships with our neighbouring site in Scott Memorial Hospital provide opportunities to periodically work in Scone to further develop and maintain your clinical skills.
Structured 30-day and 60-day check-ins with your manager, along with annual performance reviews, ensure you feel supported and valued in your role.
