About the Role
NSW Health is seeking a motivated and professional Administrative Officer to join the Armidale Community Health team. As one of the first points of contact for patients, you will play a key role in providing a welcoming, efficient, and supportive environment across a wide range of health services. These include Child and Family Health, Memory and Cognition, Palliative Care, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Dietetics, and more.
This role involves:
- Making and following up on patient appointments
- Assisting with front-line reception duties
- Supporting clinical and non-clinical staff with administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
This is a full-time position (8:30am – 4:50pm, weekdays), though flexible work arrangements such as part-time or job share may be considered.

You communicate clearly and empathetically, helping patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive. With strong customer service experience, you handle enquiries and challenges with patience and professionalism.
You are highly computer literate and adaptable, able to learn new systems quickly and maintain accurate records and appointments. You work well both independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive workplace culture. You are proactive, take pride in your work, and are committed to ongoing learning and professional development. Key Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, professional customer service as the first point of contact in person, by phone, and email.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using electronic systems.
- Support staff with administrative tasks, including ordering, invoicing, and meeting coordination.
- Manage filing systems and ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Coordinate patient transport, admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of care.
- Prioritise workload effectively in a busy environment while maintaining high standards.
- Uphold workplace health and safety and act in line with NSW Health values and cultural respect.
