The Opportunity
HealthShare NSW is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Financial Accounting professional to lead the delivery of financial accounting services to its customers. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality service with a strong focus on leadership, customer service, and compliance in line with the HealthShare NSW Service Catalogue, internal policies, and all relevant legislative, statutory, government, and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, or a related field and/or be a member of a relevant professional accounting body or demonstrate ongoing professional development. Extensive experience in financial accounting, along with a sound knowledge of asset management within a large, complex organisation, is essential.

- Please describe your experience applying Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and/or NSW Treasury policies in your current role or previous roles. Furthermore, how have you managed the implementation of changes to financial reporting to ensure compliance with updated AASB requirements or emerging reporting priorities, including ESG or sustainability disclosures?
- From your perspective, what are the three most critical internal controls essential to a robust and timely month-end close process? Please clearly articulate how you have incorporated the design and assessed the operational effectiveness of these controls in your current role to ensure accuracy, compliance and strong financial governance.

What preparatory documentation and evidentiary support do you prioritise, and how do you navigate the resolution of audit inquiries with professionalism, transparency and a focus on fostering constructive stakeholder relationships, whilst ensuring timely and effective remediation of issues?
