This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas

- The Broken Hill Hospital Allied Health Service utilises a collaborative practice model in a multidisciplinary team.
- The clinical services span the areas of Acute Inpatient, Subacute, Outpatient/Hand Therapy and Community. Outreach and telehealth services may also be components of services that will be required.
Please note due to the vast distances of outreach services either adult or paediatric service provision may be required with appropriate support. - It is expected that the successful person would have experience in the above areas or the willingness to undertake further professional development in areas that require upskilling.
- The position will be providing discipline leadership, clinical supervision and direct client care across case loads depending on negotiation with the Occupational Therapy Manager and staffing levels within the department.

How to Apply

- Degree in Occupational Therapy with registration via AHPRA and have at least 3 years post graduate clinical experience in a relevant clinical field. Current unrestricted driver’s license and willingness to travel for work.
- Demonstrated advanced clinical practice knowledge, skills and experience within Adult Occupational Therapy Services, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to the defined standards of ethical and professional conduct consistent with the current NSW Health Code of Conduct and/or relevant professional standards where applicable.
- Strong time management skills, written and verbal communication and IT skills including the ability or willingness to use Telehealth software.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, implement and evaluate quality improvement initiatives, research, and service development processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, as a member of the multidisciplinary team, prioritise and manage a mixed caseload.
- Demonstrated experience in clinical and team leadership, including experience in staff and student supervision.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication skills including negotiation, decision making, advocacy and the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
