This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these area

An Exciting Opportunity at Wentworth Health Service
Now is a great time to join the team at Wentworth Health Service. The Wentworth Hospital is undergoing a full redevelopment, with a brand-new facility set to open in August 2025. The new hospital will feature 19 inpatient beds and a modern emergency department, including two resuscitation bays.
The Wentworth Local Government Area is home to approximately 7,500 residents, with around 1,500 living in the township of Wentworth. The Health and Security Assistant role provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff, general assistance in wards, cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility and undertakes security related duties as required and or directed.
- Undertake securing, watching, guarding and/or protecting functions as directed.
- Undertake a range of cleaning duties as outlined in a daily schedule.
- Cooking and/or preparing of light refreshments for patients and delivery of patient meals.
- Porter patients within the facility or campus as requested, for ward transfers, appointments and other needs.
- Provide general assistance in the ward/ facility including moving heavy equipment, making unoccupied beds and loading/ unloading commercial-type washing machines.

- Previous experience working in a company or organisation undertaking commercial cleaning or providing general assistance or a similar role.
- Food Safety Certificate or willingness to undertake within six months of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from supervisor.
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Current security license.
