This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
  • Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, provide safe, compassionate, person centred care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for patients and clients.
  • Work in one of the Far West LHD's newer, modern facilities in a beautiful location 100 metres from the Murrumbidgee river
  • Join a supportive, multi-disciplinary healthcare team who are very welcoming and embrace all newcomers to the hospital family
  • Develop your skills & progress your career working across a wide stream of specialties in a smaller, rural hospital

About Balranald

Balranald is a beautiful rural town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. It has a friendly atmosphere with great venues for barista coffee, a well renowned bakery and discovery centre. A short drive takes you to the scenic larger town of Swan Hill for shopping, a great swimming pool and art centre. Balranald offers amazing food at the local RSL and to die for take away Pizza. Balranald Shire is home to the spectacular Yanga National Park and World heritage listed Mungo National Park, rich in Aboriginal history. Surrounded by five of NSW’s most iconic rivers (the Murray, Lachlan, Wakool, Edward & Murrumbidgee), the town provides an ideal location for boating, fishing, kayaking and other water sports.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current Endorsed Enrolled Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to the delivery of patient care in the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person centred care patient care.
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and resolve conflict situations by managing own emotional responses and interacting with others in a personable and professional manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait, Islander patients and families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice and its contribution to changing practice and policies within the organisation.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team.
