This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a skilled Electrician to join our proactive and solutions approached team.  You will be a qualified electrician or dual mechanical fitter and have worked in commercial or industrial industries and looking to make a difference to support a our Far West community.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who can remain calm under pressure, be innovative with their trouble shooting ability, are logical thinkers and have a strong safety, team and customer focus.


What you'll be doing

Maintain the electrical/mechanical plant and associated equipment to regulatory requirements within the District to provide an effective, efficient and compliant service.

About the Far West LHD

The Far West Local Health District is one of 15 LHDs under NSW Health, providing high quality public health services to the communities in far west NSW.

How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Trade qualified Electrical Fitter/Mechanic with successful post trade experience in the commercial and/or industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work unsupervised and as a member of a team, with the ability to manage, design and purchase equipment required to ensure the completion of tasks or projects that are undertaken.
  • Knowledge of computer maintenance management software systems with experience in using spreadsheets, word processing, email and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possess or willing to undertake training to possess Arctick Restricted Split System Installation & Decommissioning Licence.
  • Commitment to undertake additional training in either Certificate II or III dependant on current qualifications.
  • Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and/or commitment to obtain MR licence within 6 months.
