This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $10,000 (conditions apply and may be pro-rata’d to your contracted or ordinary working hours, these payments are paid on a fortnightly basis) under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.

This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

What you'll be doing
  • Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs to support ongoing professional clinical development of nursing and midwifery staff to maintain quality care outcomes for patients and clients
  • Provide direct clinical support, supervision, education, training and mentorship to all nursing staff to support the breadth of annual assessments required for staff to remain credentialed and maintain accurate data bases and evidence of education provided.
  • Participate in research/quality improvement to develop rural nursing and/or midwifery knowledge and actively contribute to the development of clinical practice within the LHD.

How To Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:

  • Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards and attain certificate within 12 months of commencement of position.
  • Demonstrated three years' experience as a Registered Nurse providing preceptorship and mentoring to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills
  • Credentialed as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement of position.
  • Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and use of software programs to develop and deliver education.
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and preparedness to travel across rural and remote areas.
