Join our Unified Communication Group as an Engineer (Core Platforms & Applications)
In this role you will help integrate enterprise communication tools - voice, SMS, video conferencing, and clinical apps - into a seamless, user-friendly platform enhancing productivity across NSW Health.
You’ll support Core Platforms, Applications & Services: Delivering statewide voice, conferencing, mobile, and messaging services
Your focus will be on developing and enhancing Unified Telephony solutions, primarily Microsoft Teams Phone System and Internet Protocol Telephony (TIPT). You’ll gather customer needs, conduct research, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative UC and Telehealth solutions for both corporate and clinical users.
In this role, you will:
Lead technical expertise and support for UC systems, including Microsoft Teams Phone, IP Telephony (TIPT), and telephony devices.
- Drive the transition from legacy telephony to modern cloud-based solutions, ensuring seamless deployment and adoption.
- Create clear technical documentation and troubleshooting guides to empower teams and users.
- Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and root cause analysis to maintain solution reliability and quality.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to deliver products on time, innovate, and optimize performance.
- Provide ongoing technical support, including participation in on-call rotations, and manage incident resolution via ITIL processes.
This role is internally referred to as Engineer – Service Management.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience managing large-scale Statewide Voice Services and UC platforms (Microsoft Teams, IP Telephony) in complex environments, ideally within NSW Health.
- Strong expertise with VoIP, SIP Trunks, PSTN, desk phones, telephony devices, and cloud-based UC solutions (AWS/Azure).
- Skilled in vendor and telco management, including procurement, service delivery, billing, and ongoing enhancements.
- Comfortable working in Agile environments with experience mentoring peers, creating product stories, and driving roadmap delivery.
- Excellent communicator with knowledge of contact centre systems, call recording, video conferencing, and project management principles.
