About the Opportunity
The Associate Director, Integration and Interoperability is a senior delivery leadership role within the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) program, responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering complex integration initiatives that enable systems to work together across NSW Health. You will be responsible for ensuring that clinical and patient information can be safely and reliably exchanged between systems, using standards‑based and reusable integration approaches. This includes enabling information to flow between electronic medical records, clinical specialty systems, the SDPR, and external partners, without disrupting clinical workflows or patient safety.

The implementation of the SDPR is a statewide implementation where you will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring initiatives are completed on time, within budget and scope, and to the highest quality standards. This includes overseeing governance, vendor performance, risk management, benefits realisation, and organisational change within a dynamic public sector environment.

In this role, you will lead delivery across multiple concurrent integration workstreams, coordinating dependencies across vendors, platforms and internal teams. You will ensure integration solutions are implemented pragmatically, meet clinical and operational needs, and are scalable and supportable as part of a statewide digital ecosystem. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about delivering impactful, system‑wide digital change.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and deliver highly complex, large‑scale integration and interoperability initiatives, coordinating multiple delivery streams, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert leadership across the full project lifecycle, including planning, risk management, benefits realisation and organisational change in a public sector environment.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for integration dependencies, risks and sequencing across SDPR and related programs.
  • Work closely with architecture and technical teams to ensure interoperability designs are deliverable, fit for purpose and aligned with program timelines.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships across NSW Health and external stakeholders, using advanced communication and negotiation skills to resolve issues and support project success.
  • Offer high‑level strategic advice on technical solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, statewide directions and evolving technology landscapes.

About You

  • You are an experienced leader with a strong record of delivering highly complex, integration or platform‑based initiatives in a large and complex service organisation.
  • You bring deep expertise in project governance, risk management, benefits realisation and organisational change, particularly within the public sector.
  • Strong capability in managing multi‑vendor delivery models, competing priorities and cross‑program dependencies.
  • You excel at building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders, resolving complex issues and aligning diverse priorities.
  • You provide strategic, forward‑thinking advice on technical solutions, adapting to rapid technological change and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

You will succeed in this role if you:

  • Enjoy working in an environment where no two days are the same.
  • Are motivated by tight deadlines and problem solving on the go.
  • Can juggle multiple priorities while staying calm and outcome focused.
  • Thrive when collaborating with others to deliver results in a fast moving space.
