Are you passionate about advancing cardiac care through groundbreaking clinical research?  We are seeking an exceptional Cardiac Research Unit Manager to lead the strategic and operational direction of our Cardiac Research Unit within the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

About the Opportunity

In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee a diverse portfolio of clinical research projects that directly impact patient outcomes. You will shape the future of cardiac research by ensuring excellence in study design, implementation, and delivery - all while upholding the highest ethical and scientific standards.

What You Will Do - 

Drive the strategic vision and operational success of cardiac clinical trials across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Ensure all research meets rigorous standards - including ICH-GCP, National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, and NSW Health policies.
Manage the full research lifecycle - from feasibility and planning to participant engagement, data management, and study close-out.
Collaborate with clinicians, patients, carers, and research partners to deliver innovative, patient-centred outcomes.
Oversee financial management, resource allocation, contract negotiation, and performance reporting to achieve excellence within budget and timelines.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Proven leadership and strategic focus to manage complex cardiac research programs across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Extensive clinical research knowledge with strong understanding of ICH-GCP, ethical standards, and research governance frameworks.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with patients, clinicians, researchers, and external partners.
Strong operational and financial management experience to oversee budgets, contracts, and resource allocation with precision.
Resilience and adaptability to balance competing priorities, shifting timelines, and a high-volume research workload.
