The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Staff Specialist Paediatrician to join the Paediatric Behavioural Triage Clinic, working at Wyong and Gosford Hospitals. If there are 2 suitable applicants, the role may be split evenly, with 0.4 FTE at each site, and will focus on the assessment and management of children and adolescents presenting with behavioural, neurodevelopmental, and acute mental health concerns.
Applicants should be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health Division) and / or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
Central Coast is comprised of the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney and Newcastle, which are collectively expected to grow from the current approximate 300,000 to 450,000 population before 2030. The Local Health District has strong connections with both Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

1. Medical Practitioner registered or able to be registered in Australia, inclusive of an unrestricted 19AB exempted provider number.
2. Recognised specialist qualifications, Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Paediatrics and Child Health Division) and / or other equivalent specialist recognition.
3. Demonstrated experience in the assessment and management of behavioural, neurodevelopmental, and acute mental health presentations in children and adolescents.
4. Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple sites.
5. Strong commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
6. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
7. Minimum 3 years post-fellowship experience in acute paediatric settings
8. Demonstrated expertise managing ASD, ADHD, and behavioural comorbidities
9. Proven ability to work in Safe Assessment Rooms or equivalent therapeutic environments
