The Palliative Care Service at Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join our experienced, multidisciplinary team. This is your opportunity to work in an inpatient setting, supporting patients and families through some of life’s most meaningful and vulnerable moments.

About the Role 

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive palliative nursing care within the inpatient unit and collaborate with specialist palliative care consultation and community services across acute, community, and residential aged care to ensure equity of access to care for patients in the right settings.

This position operates  Monday to Friday from 0730 - 1600. 

The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, service management and leadership of the profession of Nursing to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources. You will work collaboratively with an experienced, multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated, compassionate care that supports patients and their families through end-of-life care, including bereavement support and advanced care planning.
As the Registered Nurse in charge of the IPU, the NUM performs as a clinical leader and manager with accountability for culture, quality and safety, patient flow, financial management, change management and the experience of patients in the Service.

About You

CCLHD is looking for someone who has:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with extensive recent post registration clinical experience and knowledge of current nursing issues in Palliative Care and current NSW Driver's Licence. 
  • Demonstrated experience in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft applications and roster management systems.
  • Relevant work experience in clinical leadership and management and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
