Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to lead nursing services within the Women, Children, and Families unit, playing a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and driving service improvements in this thriving region.

Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to lead and manage nursing services within the Women, Children, and Families unit. This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care, optimising resources, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership and management of nursing services, ensuring high standards of care and efficient resource use.

  • Foster a positive, person-centred work culture by inspiring, mentoring, and supporting nursing staff.

  • Act as a clinical role model, promoting best practices and professional development among team members.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and compassionate care delivery.

  • Oversee resource management including budgeting, staffing, stock, and equipment to maximise service delivery.

  • Lead patient safety, quality improvement, policy implementation, and accreditation efforts.

  • Collaborate with senior management to implement strategic priorities aligned with the “Trusted Care. Better Health for Everyone” framework and achieve KPIs.

  • Maintain accountability for personal and team clinical practice, professional conduct, and continuous performance improvement in line with nursing standards and legislation.

About You: 

  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or working towards same and/or equivalent experience in nurse management as deemed appropriate by CCLHD
  • Current driver's licence and ability to travel around the Central Coast 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
