We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Service at Wyong Mental Health Services.
About the Opportunity
In this role you will:
- Coordinate and support the safe and effective delivery of ECT services in line with NSW Health ECT Minimum Standards and local policies.
- Work closely with the Director of ECT, ECT Committee, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth referral, admission, treatment, and transfer processes for consumers.
- Liaise with anaesthetic, theatre, and recovery teams to ensure high-quality, coordinated patient care.
- Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments, contribute to care planning, and provide education and support to consumers and their families/carers.
- Ensure all ECT documentation, equipment checks, and clinical protocols are maintained to a high standard.
- Apply evidence-based practice and clinical judgement in managing risks associated with ECT procedures and patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to service development within a specialised mental health setting.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with a certificate of completion of an ECT Training Programme highly desirable.
- Demonstrated recent experience in mental health nursing, preferably within an acute inpatient setting.
- Knowledge and experience in managing risks associated with ECT procedures and caring for deteriorating consumers.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consumers, and carers.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a complex clinical environment.
- Commitment to consumer-centred care and participation.
