Are you an experienced Clinical Coding professional with a passion for education and developing others? Central Coast Local Health District is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Clinical Coding Educator to lead the delivery of high-quality education and training that supports coding excellence across our Health Information Services team.
About the Opportunity
As the Clinical Coding Educator, you will design, deliver and evaluate comprehensive education programs that support both trainee and experienced clinical coders. Working closely with the Clinical Coding Manager and Auditors, you will identify learning opportunities, respond to audit outcomes, and ensure coding staff remain up to date with changing standards, systems and best practice.
This position plays a key role in supporting continuous improvement, driving quality initiatives and helping coders confidently navigate changes in clinical documentation and electronic medical records. In this role you will:
- Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of engaging Clinical Coding education and training programs
- Mentor and support trainee and experienced coders to build capability and coding excellence.
- Analyse coding audits and quality outcomes to identify learning needs and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop high-quality educational resources while supporting changes to coding standards, systems and clinical documentation.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- A recognised Australian qualification in Clinical Coding and/or a Degree in Health Information Management (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience applying ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS across a broad range of hospital specialties.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Coding Standards, DRGs and Casemix within the Australian healthcare system.
- Proven experience delivering education, training or mentoring, with a commitment to developing others and continuous professional learning.
- Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive quality improvement.
