We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 - Palliative Care Nurse to join our dedicated team and lead the delivery of high-quality, compassionate palliative care across hospital, community, and home settings.


About the Opportunity

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 in Palliative Care, you will play a pivotal role in providing complex specialist nursing care to patients with advanced illness and complex needs. Your leadership, advanced clinical expertise, and collaborative practice will directly support patients and their families through some of the most important moments in their care journey.

In this meaningful and highly specialised role, you will:

  • Deliver advanced, person-centred, evidence-based palliative care in hospital, community, and home environments.
  • Provide specialist clinical leadership, acting as a mentor and resource for nursing and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Contribute to developing and enhancing clinical processes, policies, and guidelines to advance palliative care practice.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, carers, and diverse health professionals to provide comprehensive, holistic support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery and patient experience.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced clinician who brings advanced palliative care expertise and a strong commitment to professional excellence.

You will have:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Post graduate qualifications or working towards and at least 3 years' experience working in palliative care or related specialty.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and advanced skills in providing complex palliative care interventions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including proficiency with clinical information systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to practice in accordance with NMBA Professional Standards, Code of Ethics, and Code of Conduct.
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (as community visits may be required).
