At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care to lead and inspire our nursing team.


About the Opportunity

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Gde 2 – Palliative Care, you will deliver complex, specialist nursing care to patients and their carers in hospital, community, and home settings. Your role will influence clinical practice, mentor staff, and ensure patients receive the highest standard of care at all stages of their journey. In this role you will:

  • Provide expert palliative care, including assessment, planning, and management of complex patient needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical capability.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and healthcare information.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, families, carers, and healthcare teams to support optimal outcomes.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Holds current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience in Palliative Care or relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical skills, leadership, and the ability to provide complex care.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing and works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Has a current Australian Driver’s licence.
  • Holds a National Criminal Record Check and Working With Children Check.
