About the Opportunity

As a Cardiac Sonographer serving patients in the Diagnostic Cardiology Unit, you will provide tests and procedures, in a professional courteous and caring manner.  Your role is vital in ensuring that duty requirements and standards are being met and maintained.

This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care and enhancing the overall patient experience. In this role you will:

  • Perform and assist with a range of echocardiography tests and procedures.
  • Perform all delegated tasks appropriately and in line with grading and capabilities.
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal and professional development as required to maintain ASAR accreditation.
  • Experience variety throughout the work week, serving inpatients and outpatients in Gosford and Wyong hospitals, with a range of pathology complexity.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Support education and supervision as necessary to staff within the Department of Cardiology.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent.
  • ASAR Accredited Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Preferred experience in ECG and/or cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED/PPM/ICD/ILR) related services, or willingness to complete in-house training and competency.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services to patients in a professional, courteous, respectful and gentle manner. While at the same time maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion at all times.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team while supporting a harmonious work environment.
