Where you'll be working
The Sutherland Hospital and Community Health Service is located in the Sutherland Shire ('the Shire'), approximately half an hour drive south of Sydney, in the suburb of Caringbah. The Sutherland Hospital was established in 1958 and is a major metropolitan hospital and teaching hospital. The hospital motto, from its inception, is "Endeavour to Serve".
 
We offer a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the residents of the Sutherland Shire. We have 375 beds and each year we care for more than 50,000 patients in our Emergency Department and around 28,000 patients are admitted to our hospital.
 
What you'll be doing
 
The position will support the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Directorate of Strategy Innovation and Improvement to effectively plan and forecast needs in relation to the design and delivery of its health services, as well as support the development and maintenance of strategic partnerships. 

The position holder is responsible for:

  • Developing and coordinating strategies, clinical services plans and business plans
  • Developing and coordinating strategic partnerships
  • Preparation of briefings, reports, business cases and general correspondence as required.

     

As part of the role, the Senior Planning and Partnerships Officer will provide advice (including relevant technical advice) which is informed by robust evidence from analyses of appropriate data (using routine health data collections and projection tools), as well as critical appraisal of the relevant literature. The position holder will also prepare robust, logical, timely reports for a diverse audience.
 
The position is responsible for using effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills, verbal and written, to facilitate consultations and communication of strategies, plans and partnership activities.
